The landscape is typical of the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria, which stretches from the foot of Mount Coppari, where the complex is located, to Lake Angitola and the coast across from it.
The area’s natural beauty is best enjoyed strolling along the long pathways through coniferous forests, Mediterranean brush and vast orchards of olive and fruit trees.

The local architecture expresses the character of late nineteenth-century country homes, beautifully situated in the midst of a clearing offering breathtaking views extending from 800 metres above sea level down to the Aeolian Islands.
The Massara family has lived in Monterosso since the sixteenth century. 
The family has always administrated vast tracts of land and has made a name for itself at arms, in the law and in politics.
